This site is dedicated to the work of Harry Anderson, an artist whose work has always been connected with an affinity towards the found object. They were used first in site specific installations, then in the mid eighties the pieces became unified objects in the form of a lamp or light sculpture. Anderson has a passion for items that were mass-produced in the United States during the early and mid twentieth century. They are the materials that both inspire and make up his work. He finds them in the industrial junk yards that have been created by the dismantling of U.S. industry, at barn sales where the tools and equipment that were once commonly in use on the family farm are now just clutter and from flea markets where objects that have ceased to serve their original purpose may be found. These collected objects are used with either hand-blown glass or found glass shades to form the light sculptures.
